Georges Van der Straeten (Belgian, 1856 - 1928) is known as a sculptor of frivolous, elegant female figures, busts and portraits of young women, of seductive parisiennes (similar to the work of Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914)).
Works by Van der Straeten are preserved, among others, in the municipal library of Oudenaarde, the King Baudouin Foundation, in the museum in Maubeuge (France) and in Tourcoing (France).
