Paul Alfred Raum(1872 - 1935) was a German sculptor who mainly created small sculptures, these were often influenced by antique models. He was also active as a medallist. The artist studied at the Royal Academy of Arts’ in Berlin at the turn of the century. His conspicuous talent earned him the Academy's Grand State Prize’and a scholarship in the spring of 1902.
From an artistic point of view, Alfred Raum's work is classified as Impressionist. In 1912, the Kunstverein Hamburg’ organised exhibitions entitled "Collections of the Berlin Impressionists", in which works by Alfred Raum were also represented.
